The Mustang S650
Ford keeps the legacy of pony cars alive with its seventh generation of Mustang, the S650 Mustang Dark Horse.
Unveiled in “The Stampede” on September 14th at the Detroit Moto Auto Show, The Mustang Dark Horse is the seventh generation with the Mustang nameplate, and it didn’t disappoint. While other companies like Dodge have transitioned to “electric pony cars”, Ford stayed true to the brand with a Coyote V8 engine capable of producing over 480 hp. The Dark Horse Mustang is going to be the most powerful track-oriented car to carry a 5.0 liter V-8.
New Design
Ford has redesigned many aspects of the car. The most noticeable change is the rear of the car, with a fold through the back giving it a clean and slick look. Customers will also be able to get a badge of a horse head on the back. Going around to the side of the car, Ford changed the shape to make the car look and feel a lot lower than the ground. The doors are also changed so it’s easier to get in and out of the car. Transitioning to the front, the headlights have three parts to match the brake lights. The interior also includes more screens but also includes modes to throw back to the original generations of Mustangs.
More Surprises
Lucky for us, Ford’s also included a lot more surprises. The new computer system will allow drivers to adjust each part of the car individually; the suspension could be in track mode while the exhaust is normal.
Ford also added an e-brake to make drifting easier. This computer-assisted braking system will allow everyone to enjoy the joy of drifting.
Finally, one of the coolest new features allows owners to rev the car with just their key. Gone are the days when you have to chirp the car to get people off, now you can rev it up with just the keys. Vroom Vroom.
