Pininfarina Battista
After being the backbone behind Ferraris, Alfa Romeos, Peugeots, Bentleys, and Maseratis for more than 70 years, Pininfarina finally releases its first car, the Battista.
For the last 70 years, Pininfarina has been designing cars for many companies, primarily Ferrari. They’ve been the masterminds behind the Ferrari F12berlinetta, Karma GT, and the Maserati GranTurismo. Additionally, the company designed the chassis for the Rimac Nevera, which it also used in the Battista.
The company has decided to finally design a car worthy of its own logo, with its only other nameplate being the Azzurra in the mid-1980s. Named after its founder, Battista “Pinin” Farina, the Battista has officially dethroned the Nevera to become the fastest-accelerating car in the world, with a 0-60 mph acceleration in 1.79 seconds, though the Nevera still holds the title for the fastest electric car.
The Battista is the most powerful Italian car in history, having 1900 hp and 1725 pound-feet of torque on all four wheels. The car has an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph, and a range of 300 miles. Pininfarina also says that the car will accelerate from 0-120 mph in 4.49 seconds, and will stop from 62 mph in just 101.7 feet. Additionally, the exterior can be configured in up to 13.9 quintillion configurations.
Pininfarina promises that the Battista will have unmatched performance and crazy luxury. Each Battista is a result of 1,250 hours of careful design and craft. The company estimates that each car will take 10 weeks to build at their Cambiano facility in Italy. You can buy one of the 150 models for just 2.3 million dollars!
